The Belfair Water Reclamation Facility was a Greenfield project constructed on 56 timbered acres of forest land in Mason County. The project included the construction of a 0.5 million gallon per day water reclamation facility. Facility elements included a headworks with grit removal, coarse and fine screens, odor control and emergency bypass to a lined pond, two Membrane Bio-Reactor (MBR) Trains consisting of anoxic, pre-aeration and MBR basins and equipment, a waste activated sludge facility with recirculation and waste pumping abilities, process building housing controls, permeate pumps, blowers, chemical injection, laboratory, and maintenance facilities, final effluent and disinfection including UV disinfection, clear well, effluent pumping station and filters, treated water storage pond, effluent pipeline and remote controlled effluent spray field. The project achieved a LEED-Silver rating.
