The replacement of a 260 foot long trestle section over the Yakima River in the middle of the Cascades posed many constructability and environmental challenges. The original plan required logging and widening the access road through Easton State Park. BOSS’s unique approach of assembling the entire 260 foot long steel structure and launching it from one side eliminated all of the anticipated impacts to the park. In appreciation, WA State Parks recognized BOSS for its efforts and the project, along with the Hall Creek Trestle Repair, went on to become the AGC’s 2nd place winner for project of the year.
